Then your goggles begin to fog. Or water slowly seeps inside. Visibility drops. You slow down. You adjust. You rinse.

For years, swimmers have accepted this as part of the sport. Anti-fog sprays. Spit. Rinsing mid-set. Temporary fixes that delay the problem, but never solve it.

Kyrox FogShield+™ was developed to change that.

Why does fog appear while swimming?

During swimming, heat and moisture from your face build up inside the goggles. When this warm, humid air comes into contact with a cooler lens, the moisture turns into tiny droplets that scatter light and reduce visibility.

Fogging is more likely during longer swims, in colder water, or when goggles are taken off and put back on multiple times. Temperature differences between your face, the water, and the surrounding air all play a role.

Why current anti-fog solutions don't work?

Almost all other swim goggles rely on a basic anti-fog layer applied to the lens.

This layer is not part of the lens itself. It sits on top of the surface and gradually wears off during normal use due to:

  • constant contact with water
  • wiping or touching the lens
  • repeated use over time

Once this layer weakens, moisture can form droplets — and fog returns.

That is also why improvised fixes like anti-fog sprays, spitting or baby shampoo don’t solve the problem. They may briefly affect the surface, but they wash away almost immediately and offer no real control.

What is Kyrox FogShield+™ technology?

Kyrox FogShield+™ is a permanent hydrophilic lens technology built directly into the goggle lens to manage condensation during swimming.

Instead of allowing moisture to form visible droplets that blur vision, FogShield+™ spreads moisture evenly across the lens surface. This creates a thin, transparent moisture layer that stays clear while you swim.

Because FogShield+™ is integrated into the lens itself and not a spray or temporary coating, it does not wash off and is designed to perform consistently over repeated swims in both pool and open-water conditions.

How to activate Kyrox FogShield+™?

Before swimming, lightly wet the inside of the lens and gently wipe it with your fingertip a few times. This helps activate the hydrophilic surface so it can manage moisture effectively during your swim.

After wiping, rinse the lens with water and put the goggles on.
